Welcome

We’re excited to share that the City of Missoula’s main website is getting a major upgrade! Our goal is simple: make it easier for you to find what you need, access services online, and enjoy a modern, user-friendly experience.

Why Are We Updating the Website?

Our current site has a lot of old information—some dating back to 2008—which makes it hard to find what matters most. This redesign will help us serve you better.

What Will Change?

We’re doing a full update of the site. Here’s what’s included:

  • Remove old and unnecessary content
  • Streamline records requests
  • Fix broken links and other issues
  • Make the site easier to use and more accessible
  • Improve online forms and services
  • Organize menus so information is easier to find
  • Update the design for a modern look
  • Improve mobile responsiveness
  • Give Parks and Recreation its own menu (it’s our most visited section)

Why Now?

Every five years, we get a design update from our website provider. Instead of just changing the look, we’re improving the whole experience:

  • Meet current and future accessibility standards
  • Make sure important information is easy to find
  • Improve online services for residents

When Will This Happen?

  • We’ve already started removing old content.
  • New tools will roll out over the next few months.
  • You’ll see changes throughout the year.
  • The new design and menus will launch near the end of 2026.

How Much Will It Cost?

  • The redesign is part of our hosting package.
  • The City appropriated one-time funds for this project as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 budget.
  • Cost for setup and testing: $30,323 in 2026.

What’s Next?

We’ll keep improving the site by:

  • Removing outdated content
  • Making current information easier to find
  • Using your feedback to guide updates
