Downtown Master Plan Adopted

After a year of public process and planning the Downtown Master play was adopted by City Concil.

NRP&T Design Kickoff Open House

Two open houses were offered to gather public feedback, generate ideas, and define the vision for the project.

September 2019 → April 2020

Conceptual Design Development, stakeholder meetings and public outreach

Design development happened with the help of a variety of stakeholders including: City engineering and streets, Army Corps of Engineers, Missoula storm water, Missoula Water, Downtown businesses, The Clark Fork Market, MDT, Missoula Parking Commission, Republic Services, North Western Energy, Missoula police and fire, Three Rivers Collaborative, and Caras Park vendors.  


Public outreach included discussions with residents of Clark Fork Riverside, The Wilma, and the Senior Center. Family design workshops took place at The Missoula Food Bank,  and Fall Family Fest.

Missoula City Council Public Hearing

City Council will hold a public hearing before voting on adopting the plan

January 2021 → December 2022

Begin Phased Implementation

The plan will be implemented in phases over time.  Some of the most immediate areas to be developed will coincide with already planned construction projects including the Higgins Ave Bridge re-decking project, as well as a new storm water infiltration gallery to help clean runoff from downtown streets.
