Each year, the City of Missoula receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs.
CDBG and HOME funds must benefit Missoula’s low- and moderate-income residents and leverage resources to:
Improve the supply of affordable housing,
Assist with public improvements, and
Fund eligible public services.
Community Development will host a 2026 Unified Application Workshop on Tuesday, December 16th from 1:00-2:00pm. Registration is now open.
Join us to learn what’s new for 2026 and how you can apply for CDBG and Affordable Housing Trust Fund dollars.
Funding Opportunities: Find out what funds are available and what types of projects are eligible.
Application Process: We’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of using Submittable to complete and submit your application.
Q&A Session: At the end of the workshop, there will be dedicated time for questions and answers. This is where you can get clarification on any concerns you may have about the application process, eligibility, or any other related topic.

What are your thoughts or feedback on the City of Missoula's Program Year 2020 Action Plan for HUD-Funded Programs?
Each spring, the Office of Housing & Community Development creates an Annual Action Plan that must be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) before grant funds can be awarded to local organizations. This Action Plan outlines the goals, projects, and intended outcomes for the upcoming program year. You can find this year's Action Plan in the Documents widget at the right- we propose funding 8 projects in Missoula to meet our goals of reducing homelessness, expanding available affordable rental housing, and expanding homeownership opportunities in Missoula. We also include in this year's plan how we will spend CDBG-CV or COVID response funds from HUD.
What comments do you have about the year's goals, projects, or intended outcomes? Do you have any general thoughts about housing priorities in Missoula?
CLOSED: This discussion has concluded. We look forward to future discussions!
Thanks, skaricarey! All documents are linked at the right in the "Documents" tool.

Nothing happens when I open up the Action Plan link, just a blank screen which means I am unable to find out about this year's action plan. Please fix, thank you. I will blame "operator error" in the meantime.
