Fair Housing & HUD Housing Goals
The City of Missoula is currently working to develop its 2024-2028 Consolidated Plan, 2024 Annual Action Plan, and Equity Plan. These plans support the work of the Community Development Division in the administration of two federal funding streams: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships funds.
A key goal of the City's HUD Programs and Housing Policy is to ensure the provision of fair housing in our community. Federal and state fair housing laws prohibit discriminatory practices in any industry-related business or transaction that may affect the ability of protected class members to secure housing and live in the housing of their choice. As we develop a new Equity Plan for the City of Missoula, we are eager to build on the housing displacement work completed in 2023 and to learn more about how we as a city can ensure all Missoulians have access to quality housing without discrimination.

The draft of both the Consolidated Plan and the Equity Plan are now available for review and comment. You can view both documents in the sidebar to the right.
Join us for a short presentation of both plans at the City Council meeting on Monday, April 22nd at 6:00pm!
You'll hear:
- the results of our survey and other outreach efforts,
- the new goals for our HUD funding for the next 5 years,
- Fair Housing concerns and the resulting goals to address those concerns,
- the projects chosen for funding in 2024.
