What does the project cost?
The total project cost is $1.37 million, 95% of which is funded by state, federal and private grants. About $700,000 of dam removal costs is funded by FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. Without its removal, FEMA estimates Rattlesnake Dam could cause more than $6 million in damages if it failed.
