Enter the 2nd Annual Name Our Snowplows Contest
Winter is here, and so is your chance to add some personality to Missoula’s winter workhorses with our 2nd AnnualName Our Snowplows contest. Submit your most clever, funny, and light-hearted name ideas like last year's winning names, "The Big Leplowski,""Scoop Dogg," and "Darth Blader." Help us celebrate winter, our community, and the crews who keep Missoula moving when winter storms hit.
How It Works
Step 1: Submit a Name - Fill out the online form with your best snowplow name ideas from January 6 through February 2, 2026.
Step 2: Finalists Chosen - City staff will narrow submissions to the top 12 names.
Step 3: Vote! - Voting opens February 4, 2026, right here on Engage Missoula. Choose your favorite name and help us crown the winners.
Step 4: Winners Announced - We’ll announce three winning names on February 17, 2026.
What Do Winners Get?
Your winning name displayed on a real City of Missoula snowplow.
Bragging rights all winter long.
A photo with your newly named plow.

To keep things fun and welcoming, we won’t consider names that are: political, trademarked, or inappropriate or offensive.
Why We Do This
Snowplow operators work long hours during tough weather to keep Missoula safe and connected. This contest adds a little joy to winter and gives the community a chance to take part in how we celebrate that work.
