The City of Missoula is preparing a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) to correct ongoing issues in the High Park Drainage, which parallels High Park Way from Whitaker Drive to SW Higgins Avenue in the Farview/Pattee Canyon neighborhood of Missoula. The drainage currently faces issues from undersized culverts that are beyond their service life and channel erosion that degrades water quality, threatens public infrastructure, and increases City maintenance requirements. The purpose of the PER is to evaluate alternatives for addressing these issues so that the City and its residents can decide which alternatives best suit their needs. The completed PER can then be used to help the City pursue funding for the selected alternative.

A public meeting to inform the residents of Missoula of the planning efforts to address ongoing capacity, erosion, and stormwater quality issues in the High Park Drainage and to solicit input on pursuing stormwater system improvements, repairs, and funding will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 6:00pm at the Missoula Public Library, Cooper Space B.
